Fouga Magister > Fly the legend

We simply love our Fouga Magister. And we love it for the good reasons: maneuverability, speed, security and it is also beautiful to look at. The Fouga Magister is instantly recognizable by its V tail. Designed in the 1950s to assume the role of jet trainer, the Fouga Magister went far beyond. The plane has trained thousands of jet fighter pilots around the world. But the Fouga was so good and so maneuverable, at the same time so easy to fly, that it has been enrolled in many combat missions around the world.

The jet fighter has also been ordered not just In the French air force, but also by the French navy. The aircraft once again proved very efficient at taking off and landing from carrier decks and the navy version – named Zephyr – was exported to many countries. In 1971, the French and Germans associated forces to develop a new trainer, more modern and powerful than the Fouga Magister. This was the Alpha Jet, which is still used today as a trainer, and has replaced the Fouga as the plane of the French National display team, The Patrouille de France.

The Fouga Magister still remains a pilot’s favourite, and for many reasons. Firstly because most pilots have started flying jets on the Fouga Magister. Then because the V tail jet plane is very easy to fly. Contrary to most modern jet planes, the Fouga Magister remains “old school” and its twin engines ensure security. The canopy is also very large, offering great views outside for the pilot and the passenger. This is why we love our Fouga Magister.
